Founded in 2017, DeGirum set out to make AI acceleration powerful, flexible, and accessible for edge applications. With deep expertise in AI, software, and ASIC design, our team created Orca, a specialized AI hardware accelerator, and its robust software stack to drive innovative AI solutions at the edge.
While working with developers, system integrators, and AI solution providers, we saw firsthand that choosing the right hardware for AI applications is challenging. Every hardware vendor promises high performance and ease of use, but comparing these options is complex. Standard benchmarks vary across vendors, and each has its own software stack, adding further complexity for developers.
To simplify this process, we introduced the DeGirum AI Hub—a unique platform for remote prototyping and streamlined deployment. This “Try Now, Buy Later” model lets developers experiment with our edge hardware via simple APIs before committing to local setup, saving time, resources, and engineering effort.
Today, our offerings include Orca, our high-performance AI accelerator, PySDK for seamless Python-based development, and DeGirumJS, our JavaScript SDK for integrating AI in web applications. Together, these tools empower developers to quickly build, test, and deploy advanced AI applications right at the edge.
